LingoBlend uses an Anki-style algorithm (SM-2) that schedules word reviews at increasing intervals based on how well you know each word. New words start with short intervals (10 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours), then graduate to longer intervals (1, 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 120 days). Combined with daily goals and streak tracking, this produces up to 25% higher retention than traditional study methods.

Each word in your dictionary has two memory boosters. First, tap "Add Image" to search millions of photos and pick one that captures the word's meaning — research on dual coding (Paivio, 1971) shows this makes recall 2-3× stronger. Second, add a Memory Trick — a personal note linking the word to something you already know (e.g. "pato" means duck and sounds like "pot," so picture a duck with a pot on its head). The keyword method (Atkinson & Raugh, 1975) shows this kind of personal association boosts recall by 1.5× compared to rote memorization. Once you've added images to at least 3 words, you unlock Immersive mode in Flashcards — you see only the image, then try to recall the word.

Yes! Free users can import up to 3 word lists per month from CSV files, plain text, or Anki-formatted exports. Pro users get unlimited imports. You can also use the Photo Import feature to scan foreign text with your camera, or browse pre-built word packs across 25 categories — beginner and intermediate packs are free, while advanced packs are Pro-only.

Word Story is a Pro-exclusive game that generates a personalized short story using your saved dictionary words, entirely in your target language. Choose Read mode for a paginated reader or Listen mode with high-quality audio narration and speed controls. After each story, answer 5 comprehension questions to test your understanding. Up to 20 stories per day.
