Welcome to LingoBlend. By downloading, installing, or using the LingoBlend mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
LingoBlend is a language learning application that helps users learn languages through an interactive dictionary, AI-powered text blending, graded reading stories, and learning games with spaced repetition. The App is available on iOS and Android.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use LingoBlend. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must not share your account or create multiple accounts.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@lingoblend.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
LingoBlend offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription:
- Free tier: Includes core features with usage limits (e.g., daily word limits, limited photo imports, limited blends per month).
- Pro subscription: Unlocks unlimited usage, premium features (bulk import, advanced stories, AI-powered sentences), and removes ads.
Pro subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment, renewal, and refund terms are governed by the respective platform's policies. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit illegal, harmful, abusive, or offensive content through the App
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the App
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities instead of reporting them
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
- Use the App for any purpose other than personal language learning
6. User Content
- You retain ownership of any text, photos, or other content you submit to the App.
- By submitting content, you grant LingoBlend a non-exclusive, worldwide license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the App's services (e.g., blending, translating, extracting text from photos).
- We do not guarantee the preservation of your content. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of any important text.
7. Intellectual Property
- The LingoBlend app, its design, branding, and original code are the property of LingoBlend and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- Dictionary data is sourced from Wiktionary and is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license.
- Example sentences are sourced from Tatoeba.org and are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 license.
8. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services for translation, AI processing, authentication, analytics, and notifications. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Outages or changes to third-party services may temporarily affect App functionality.
9. Disclaimers
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of translations, AI-generated content, or example sentences. These are learning aids and should not be relied upon as authoritative references.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LingoBlend shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
11. Termination
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- You may delete your account at any time directly within the App through Account Settings, or by contacting us at support@lingoblend.app.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., limitation of liability, intellectual property) will remain in effect.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
